Maghull Wind Orchestra is a community based symphonic wind orchestra boasting over one hundred members. The orchestra was set up in 1978, and after 45 years still provides an opportunity for local people to come along and play music together.
The aim of Maghull Wind Orchestra is to provide a high quality enjoyable and fun musical experience for all woodwind, brass and percussion musicians within the community regardless of age, ability or standard, with professional level directorship and without audition or fee.
Maghull Wind Orchestra are delighted to introduce their 2026 Composition Competition to encourages all interested composers, between the ages of 16 to 25 years old (by the time of the concert on 3rd November 2026), to enter their composition for consideration.
The deadline for submissions is 20th February 2026.
